OUR PROJECTS

Throughout our first year of running the club, we were able to hold amazing volunteering projects every other week. Some projects include making posters or cards and they were all enjoyable for our members. Below are all of our previous projects!

Virtual Cards for Health Care Workers

Our goal with doing this as our first service project as a club is to create virtual service cards to send to the various healthcare workers at Christiana Care Hospital to show them our gratitude and to do our part in helping to encourage them as they continue to help others each day.

Reading to Children

During times of COVID-19, many children at the Delaware Libraries join live videos of Staff reading. By creating videos, we are able to alleviate the stress of the Staff and help make the children’s days a little bit brighter by reading them stories!

Appreciation Cards to MOT Teachers Project

Virtual school can be hard on everyone. With minimal contact with students and teachers the learning environment is really effected. Often teachers are overlooked in this situation and it is hard for them to adjust to this new style of teaching while keeping class engaging and informative. To show our appreciation for their efforts we will be making cards today!

Valentines For Children

At St. Jude’s many kids are hospitalized with various conditions/illnesses, and for many of them it is hard to stay optimistic. So for this week’s service project we will be creating Valentine Cards for children at St. Jude’s, to give them something to smile about.

Sexual Assault Awareness Posters

Sexual assault is a topic that is not talked about often. Sexual assault impacts millions of people in America. In America, every 73 seconds someone is sexually assaulted and on average there are about 433,648 victims of sexual assault yearly. For this week’s project we are going to be bringing awareness to this topic by creating sexual assault awareness posters.

Coloring Pages for K-8 Students

Many of our club members enjoy working with kids and working on projects that allow them to be creative. Knowing this we thought it would be a wonderful idea to connect with our lower K-8 school and make coloring pages for them!

Veterans and First Responders Appreciation Letters

Communicating through letter writing is a great way to send a special message or say thank you to Veterans who have served our country, active-duty servicemen and women deployed all over the world, or first responders in our community like EMT, police officers, and firefighters.

New Years Resolutions

Think of some New Year Resolutions that you have. Then think of some volunteer projects that relate to the resolutions. For example, if you want to exercise more, you can say you will help at a local kids summer program or even just shovel snow or landscape for your neighbors. Remember these resolutions are going to remain throughout the year. Make sure you are following through them and we will see who has completed their resolutions.

Mental Health Awareness Posters

Mental Health is an important subject and something we should not ignore. Especially during times like these were face to face interactions are limited and we are often isolated at home, it can take a toll on our mental health. Just as it is important to take care of your physical health, your mental health is vital too. One way to spread the message about taking care of your mental health is through awareness.
